in psychology today we started the topic of bystander and descender, and basically the teacher went around the class, and we had to say if we'd ever helped someone who was in trouble or in a "situation" or if we had ever been in one ourselves.
anyhoo, there's this one guy, luke, and he said that he got beaten up at the train station by the so-called "station-boys" (basically chavvy idiots who hang around outside the station in their hoodies looking 'hard' and smoking and picking on random people.) and they were like punching him, about 10 of them against just him on his own, because aparantly he was a "grunger"
wtf!! he is not, and even if he was, thats no reason to beat someone up!!
so he goes, there's this man walking by, and he shouts at them to stop it, and he's like, "at this time i'm thinking 'oh thank fuck!!'" and then the man just walks off again, leaving him!!
what is WRONG with people??
beating someone up for no reason??
not helping one guy getting beaten up by 10 chavs??
ffs!!

I would have gotten help from someone else, but I wouldn't have actually confronted the chavs. There would be no way I could fight one of them, never mind 10, so it would just end up as being two people being beat up rather than one.

In that situation what can you do? No one person will be able to take on more than one knife-weilding chav, if there was a group of your friends then it would start a massive street brawl, leading to all of us being arrested. Theres not much you can do.
